Who can attend?

For any professional who works with dogs and dog owners. Canine first aid training is highly recommended as you never know when you may need it.

An Accredited CPD certificate valid for 3 years
for just £65 per person

Curriculum

The course on Emergency Canine Care will cover the following:

  • The role of a first aider and legal compliance

  • The foundations

  • What to look for in an emergency

  • How to take your dog's vitals - pulse, breathing rate and temperature

  • CPR

  • Seizures

  • Bleeding

  • Canine shock

  • Gastric dilatation volvulus

  • Burns & scalds

  • Toxic ingestion

  • Heat stroke

  • Choking

Designed with input from vets to give dog owners and professionals the confidence to act in an emergency to ensure your dog has the best chance of recovery.

The course includes topics such as legal compliance, the foundations of safety, how to check vitals, CPR including practical, choking, seizures, canine shock, GDV, burns, poisoning, heat stroke, bleeds, how to bandage and much more.

Dog First Aid Courses all comply fully with The Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and are approved by veterinary professionals with the course content and materials being regularly reviewed and updated. We aim to not only teach you life-saving emergency dog first aid skills, but to instil the confidence in you to use these skills in real life scenarios that you could be faced with at any time.

Terms and Conditions
Payment
Payment in full is to be made at the time of booking which confirms your space.
Cancelation
If you need to cancel your attendance from the course, you can either get a refund or choose a new date. If you cancel within 14 days of the event you will not receive a refund for the course.
If in the event of the organiser cancelling, you will be offered an alternative date. If you are unable to attend the new date a refund will be issued.
Attendants
Attendants under the age of 16 requires parental permission and attendance. This is due to some of the training content being upsetting.
